Young Thug details the new album “Punk” at NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert.
After teasing his upcoming solo album “Punk” for some time now, Young Thug has kicked off the campaign as he debuted some brand new songs. This past week at Rolling Loud Miami 2021, Thug debut a new track called “Tick Tock”, and now he performed some more new songs at his NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert performance. While performing in the lush gardens of The Houdini Estate in Los Angeles, California, Thugger performed a set of 5 tracks, which includes 3 new records.
Backed by drummer Travis Barker and rock band Damnage Gooods, performed new tracks “Die Slow”, “Droppin Jewels” and “Hate The Game”, along with a full version of “Tick Tock” and his recent collaboration with Gunna “Ski”. The new project “Punk” will be his second solo studio album, after the “So Much Fun” from 2019. Thug also announced that the album will release on October 15.
Thug’s appearance in the video is unmistakably “Punk.” He’s got new hair and a look that’s evocative of the aughts’ pop-punk bands. His handmade sleeveless T-shirt (from his Spider brand) also occurs to offer some details about Punk’s impending arrival: Young Thug’s Tiny Desk Concert is, honestly one of the greatest Thugger serving fans snippets of new music that may be expected in the future, as well as performing “Ski” with what would be safe to presume is a Punk touch. Punk is set to be released in around two and a half months, so fans can expect a slow-burning album release. However, based on the content of the songs Thugger hinted during this Tiny Desk Concert, fans may be getting Young Thug’s most vulnerable album yet, making the idea of a slow-burning album rollout make sense. Furthermore, Young Thug may need some time to acclimate his followers to his new sound.
A few months back, Young Thug and Gunna joined forces for a Young Stoner Life compilation album “Slime Language 2“.
