Nipsey Hussle honoured with the Humanitarian award at BET Awards 2019.
This year BET Awards took place earlier tonight in LA and the show decided to honour the late rapper Nipsey Hussle who was shot dead in March with a posthumous humanitarian award.
Nipsey Hussle‘s family took the stage to receive the award. Marsha Ambrosius, John Legend, DJ Khaled and YG also honoured Nipsey with a heartwarming medley.
Nipsey was focused on constructing a low-income housing complex in the Hyde Park area near the Marathon store, as well as an open-air public art and a cultural event dubbed as “Destination Crenshaw.” He was a part of the “Too Big To Fail” initiative, which aimed to establish STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) centres for local youngsters. Hussle was set to meet with LAPD authorities the day after he was assassinated to explore methods to prevent gang violence.
