Freddie Gibbs freestyle on “My Type of Party” on Power 106.
Freddie Gibbs continues promoting his new joint project ‘Bandana‘ with Madlib as he made a visit to the LA Leakers show on Power 106 FM. On the show, he killed the freestyle over Dom Kennedy’s ‘My Type of Party‘.
Gibbs spewed violently over the DJ Dahi beat, unaffected by his son who sat undisturbed in his lap. “Not a fat ni**a, but I been getting Max Kream,” the Indiana rapper said during his two-minute freestyle.
“Rest in peace, Nip / Real king to the streets stuff / The Marathon won’t never end, you put these ni**as on their feet, Crip,” Gibbs said, referring to Nipsey Hussle. “Freddie Gibbs Jr. is coming to the freestyle soon!” Gibbs joked at the end of the freestyle. On Instagram, he later shared a photo of his son wearing MF Doom’s mask with the comment “Daddy Daycare.”
Last month, Gibbs released Bandana, a collaborative album with Madlib that received a flawless score from HipHopDX.
With 18,000 album-equivalent units in its first week, Bandana debuted at number 21 on the US Billboard 200 and number 13 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums.
Kennedy and Gibbs had previously cooperated on “Menace II Society,” “Walk in Wit the Mo,” and “Hangin’,” according to Gibbs. Busta Rhymes has already remixed “My Type of Party.”
