After the first Cypher yesterday featuring Megan Thee Stallion, DaBaby, YK Osiris & Lil Mosey, XXL decided to drop the second cypher of their Freshman Class 2019 series. The second edition features Blueface, YBN Cordae, and Rico Nasty.
Rico Nasty, dressed in threatening face paint and a Louis Vuitton scarf, is the first to hit the stage, spewing at a dizzying rate over the dreamy up-tempo D-Fresh-produced track DJ Scheme is spinning. While she’s gone, Blue and Cordae humorously do The Woah dance in the background.
“I ain’t never asked for a handout, but I came up now everybody got they hand out/I just got my truck matte red with the five percent tint and the rims blacked out,” she snaps. “Every ni**a round me going to black out/Put the pu**y on a ni**a, make him tap out/Just say where and my ni**a pop out/If you don’t get the picture, they gon’ carve you out.”
For his somewhat delayed turn up to bat, YBN Cordae gets a beat swap. The GRAND-produced rhythm allows the “Bad Idea” rapper to deliver his bars loud and clear, with Blue adding ad-libs to break up the rhymes. Cordae even manages to incorporate the names of both of his cypher partners into his raps.
