YNW Melly shares a response to being mentioned in Kendrick Lamar’s Drake diss.
Kendrick Lamar finally snapped back at Drake with a diss track titled “Euphoria“, which featured many name drops, including currently incarcerated YNW Melly.
“Yeah, Cole and Aubrey know I’m selfish, the crown is heavy / I pray they my real friends but if not, I’m YNW Melly,” K. Dot rapped in reference to Melly’s ongoing case, in which he’s behind bars for killing two of his friends Chris “YNW Juvy” Thomas and Anthony “YNW Sakchaser” Williams.
Following the release of the diss track, TMZ reached out to YNW Melly for a response. “Kendrick Lamar is one of my favorite rappers so I feel honored and appalled… I’m a household name — just for the wrong sh-t,” he said.
After the diss track, Drake also responded through his social media. He also posted a clip of 1999 teen film ’10 Things I Hate About You’ on his Instagram story, in reference to K. Dot saying he is the biggest Drake hater. “It’s always been about love and hate, now let me say I’m the biggest hater / I hate the way that you walk, the way that you talk / I hate the way that you dress / I hate the way you sneak diss, if I catch flight, it’s gon’ be direct / We hate the bi–hes you f–k, ’cause they confuse themselves with real women / And notice, I said “We”, it’s not just me, I’m what the culture feelin’,” he rapped.
“I’m energized by the elimination of Drake… See you soon,” Drake wrote in the text to DJ Akademiks. Drake also liked a fan page post, which wrote “That’s it” after the release of the diss track.
