Westside Gunn reacts to a fan calling out Eminem for not promoting ‘Who Made The Sunshine’.
Westside Gunn has a distribution deal with Eminem’s Shady Record imprint since 2017 but today the Buffalo-bred rapper makes his feelings clear about the lack of support from the label head. Eminem gave a shout out to The Alchemist’s new album ‘The Food Villian‘ through all social media accounts and a Westside Gunn fan called out the Detroit rapper for not promoting Westside Gunn’s latest Shady Records’ debut album ‘Who Made The Sunshine‘ which also released this month.
“No post of Westside Gunn album that’s in your own label? lol wtf,” wrote natesmo. Westside Gunn replied to the comments with laughing and shh emojis, which also means him agreeing to the comment and is that we can’t talk about it.
The most recent Shady Records album to be released was Westside Gunn’s Who Made The Sunshine, however, Eminem’s contribution to the project was virtually nil. That is not to argue that Gunn need or even desired Ems feature, but he probably could have benefited from the illustrious rapper’s enormous popularity.
Given how powerful the Buffalo label has been this year, it’s disheartening to discover that Griselda’s time with Shady hasn’t always been the most pleasant. We can only hope that with Conway’s debut album for Shady Records, God Don’t Make Mistakes, things will get better.
