The Weeknd performs in Super-Bowl Half-Time.
After teasing it throughout the week with some teasers, The Weeknd finally performs in this Super Bowl LV 2021 halftime. The NFL game where Tampa Bay Buccaneer’s triumphs winners over Kansas City Chiefs, features A medley from The Weeknd in the incredible Super-Bowl half-time show.
The R&B singer’s set extended the tale of his “After Hours” persona. Tesfaye was accompanied by a huge choir with glowing eyes and dressed in a glittering red blazer, maintaining the concept inspired by his “After Hours” character and past awards show performances. While many found the sequence unsettling, it also spawned parodies of Star Wars’ Jawas and C-3PO:
The Weeknd performed some of his biggest tracks like, “The Hills”, “Can’t Feel My Face“, “Blinding Lights“, “Starboy” and more.
The Weeknd was joined by dancers who were costumed identically save for the bandages on their heads at the end of “Can’t Feel My Face.” He pushed his way onto the field, converting what would have been a crowded area into a massive dance celebration. As soon as his smash single “Blinded by the Lights” began to play.
Check out his performance below.
