Big Daddy Kane and KRS-One Fight it out in VERZUZ.
Following an announcement earlier this month, Big Daddy Kane and KRS-One went on against each other in the latest segment of VERZUZ battles. Sunday night, the culture was alive and well, and spectators saw why these two giants are pioneers in their own right. Even at 56 and 53 years old, KRS-One and Big Daddy Kane have what it takes to teach the next generation about what it means to be an MC. With this match, Verzuz proves why they are constantly raising the bar when it comes to putting on a great show for their fans.
The two icons of Hip-Hop who started their careers in the 80s performed 20 of their greatest hits at the event on Sunday Night in Barclays Centre in Brooklyn. DJ Scratch and Kid Capri handled the music for Big Daddy Kane and KRS-One respectively.

The show was hosted by Fat Joe, who featured in the previous VERZUZ event, against Ja Rule. Big Daddy Kane’s performance started with some “technical difficulties”, to which KRS said, “There ain’t no f**king technical difficulties… he’s hiding in the dressing room.” Then Daddy Kane made his entry with a white and red suit, with red shoes and slick fedora, who then performed his 1988s hit “Just Rhymin” which originally featured the late Biz Markie. KRS-One then responded back with a hit from the same year, “I’m Still No. 1”.
Big Daddy Kane was also joined by Roxanne Shante, Masta Ace, Craig G, Greg Nice, Mad Lion, Buckshot, Smooth B, and more. HipHopDX noted that during the live stream of the event on IG, the comment section was filled with stars like Jermaine Dupri, Missy Elliott, Common, Pusha T, Diddy, DJ Khaled, The Alchemist, Killer Mike, Lil Kim, B-Real, Royce Da 5’9″ and more.
