Watch Kanye West's Donda Album Listening Event Feat Jay-Z, Travis Scott & More

Kanye West Premiers the “Donda” album at the listening event, feat Jay-Z, Travis Scott, Roddy Ricch, and more.

The 10th solo studio album “Donda” of Kanye West was scheduled to drop tonight but the fans left waiting for the project. However, earlier tonight, Kanye West sold out the entire Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta for a live listening event. The sold-out show had Ye vibing to his music in a red outfit with a full face mask. In a loud boom, a lone man dressed in reddish-orange walked slowly across the floor of Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the words “We gonna be OK, we gonna be OK” intoned again over swelling organ chords. The small figure was obscured even further by a cloud of smoke blasted from machines stationed around the stadium floor. While the lights in the stadium dimmed, a dull white light shined on Kanye West, who alternated between pacing in a circle and trotting a few feet, as songs unfolded around him, the light contracting and expanding in various forms.

West sings about leaving his family at one point, which might be a reference to his forthcoming divorce with Kardashian. Over bass-heavy rhythms, several of the tunes include auto-tuned voices.

The show featured a surprise verse from none other than Jay-Z, who reportedly recorded his verse today. On what appeared to be Donda’s final track, Jay-Z was featured. Hov even hinted at a possible sequel to the duo’s 2011 collaboration album Watch the Throne in his verse. “I told him to stop all that red cap, we going home,” Jay raps on the song. “This might be the return of the Throne. Hova and Yeezus, like Moses and Jesus.

The show featured a song with Kanye West’s late mother Donda West sample, with a feature from Pusha T. The show also had the song with a feature from Travis Scott. The other guest appearances on the album are reportedly from Lil Baby, Jeremih, Lil Durk, Roddy Ricch, Pop Smoke, and more.

Kanye West’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian was also in attendance, along with the kids and sister Khloe.

The record was to be released at midnight EDT on Friday, but it is still a long way off. Until then, here’s everything we know so far about the album.
