The “Famous” Fiasco. Kanye West on his Famous Song.
Kanye West debuted the song at Madison Square Garden, along with the rest of his seventh album, “The Life of Pablo.” The song “Famous” was instantly criticized for a few lyrics addressed to Swift.
“I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex
Why? I made that b—- famous
I made that b—- famous.”
After the line was criticized, West moved to Twitter to defend and explain his decision to include Swift in the song. West claimed in a series of deleted tweets that he did not criticize Swift and that he first contacted her about the lyrics.
“3rd thing I called Taylor and had an hour-long convo with her about the line and she thought it was funny and gave her blessings,” West tweeted February 12.
Swift came up with the notion, West continued, telling a mutual acquaintance that she couldn’t be furious with Kanye because he made her famous.
Back in 2016, Kanye West released his controversial song “Famous” where he rapped about Taylor Swift and said that they still might have sex because she made her famous. Now new audio of their 2016 phone call leaked online where Kanye West asking Taylor Swift’s permission before using that line in the song.
Kanye West says, “It has a very controversial line at the beginning of the song about you“, to which Taylor Swift asked, “what does it say?”
Kanye continued, “so it says and the song is so so dope and I literally sat with my wife with my home management team with everything and tried to rework this line I’ve thought about this line for eight months I’ve had this line I tried to rework it every which way and the original way that I thought about it is the best way but it’s the most controversial way so it’s gonna go, Eminem, a little bit so can you brace yourself for a second. So it says to all my southside ni**as that know me best I feel like Taylor Swift might still have sex.” Then Taylor approved that line and said, “It’s not mean.” Watch their full conversation below.
