Hopsin raps Eminem & Dr. Dre’s “Forgot About Dre”.
Last week during a live Instagram session, Hopsin revealed his favorite Eminem verse of all time, and now in another live session, Hopsin continues to show love to the Detroit rapper. Hopsin raps the full Eminem and Dr. Dre’s song called Forgot About Dre and called it one of the greatest songs of all time.
Though some have found it difficult to get past Hopsin’s pale eyes and occasionally personality subject matter, few can dispute that he can spew bars at an exceptional level. It’s no surprise that Eminem took a minute on “Fall” to call him out, a gesture that a giddy Hop appreciated. Now that rumours of a future collaboration are circulating, Hop took a time to remember one of the most pivotal moments in Shady/Aftermath history.
Hopsin delivered a perfect version of Dr. Dre and Eminem’s 2001 duet “Forgot About Dre” during a recent Livestream. He transported himself back to a simpler period as the ominous strings began to play. He begins by saying, “This is one of my all-time favorite tunes.” “It’s like when I first heard about Eminem.” He then drops his cadence and dives right into Dre’s first stanza with the confidence of a seasoned veteran. The song is finished in no time, and the nostalgia levels have reached critical mass.
Several days ago, Hopsin revealed to his fans that the 10th part of his “Illmind Of Hopsin” series clearly hinted at Eminem was the ‘greatest rapper of all time.’ He added that the second version of the song he raps alone could be released.
Hop also made clear Eminem’s favorite all-time verse: “Favorite verse of all time? that’s easy. The first verse of ‘Role Model,’ favorite verse. Let me explain why this is my favorite verse. I am a big fan of Eminem, everybody knows. The rawness is still raw when rappers come out and they don’t give a f**k, and they don’t really like have any structure. I like the fact that Eminem at this stage in his career, he is just a raw f**kin’ rapper.”
The track which appeared on Dr. Dre’s classic “2001” album, reached #25 on Billboard Hot 100, and also won a Grammy for Best Rap Performance by a duo of the group at the 2001 Grammy Awards.
He starts the beat and said, “One of my favorite songs of all time well… this is just too f**kin sick.” After ending the full song, Hopsin continued, “I love that song. When that song came out… that was better than f**king Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’. When that song came out, I don’t know know how many guys remember it, when that song came out, that was the hottest song in the f**kin world. The hottest f**kin rap song I ever f**kin heard in my entire life. And I had to learn every single f**kin lyric of that song. Like that is one of the best songs of all time.” Watch it below.
