Fat Joe regrets not signing Eminem six different times.
Fat Joe revealed in this flashback that Eminem gave him six demos that he never listened to. Joe admitted that he remembered seeing Eminem around, but that he couldn’t recall listening to any of the demos. He also told a story about Pitbull clowning him, which you can listen to in full above.
Fat Joe recently did an interview with 99 Jamz 99.1 FM where he talked about regretting not signing Eminem when he had the chance. “Eminem, out here in Miami, gave me his demos six different times.” said Fat Joe, “Everywhere I went was this little white boy and he kept giving me his demo and he was like ‘yo, listen to my music. I am telling you I am nice, I am nice, I am nice’ and I never listened. I didn’t do it and now he’s the biggest guy in the universe.”
Eminem did what all aspiring artists do when he was trying to make it as a young rapper out of Detroit. Marshall Mathers worked his way to the top of the industry, earning his stripes and proving to the world that he is truly one of the greatest to ever live. Still hoping to catch the attention of the right team, Em sent his demo tape to Fat Joe a few times, and each time the New York veteran turned him down. He didn’t even bother to listen to the tapes. He now considers the incident to be the biggest blunder of his life.
