Tyler, The Creator visits the Ebro in the Morning, talks about Eminem and Lil Wayne.
Tyler, The Creator is riding high on the success of his latest album “Call Me If You Get Lost” and continues the promo run as he made a visit to Hot 97 for an interview on the Ebro in the Morning show. On the show, the 30-year-old talks about the process behind his new project, his place in hip hop, coming up with odd Future, being slept on in the game, thoughts on getting banned from the UK in 2015, proving people wrong, how his mom shaped his life and more.
At one point [1:30:00] on asked about Lil Wayne, Tyler shows his love for Tunechi along with comparisons with Eminem’s technical abilities. “I love Lil Wayne. He keeps getting better,” says Tyler. “I think people don’t realize he keeps getting better because of some of the beat choices or whatever, but that man only got better on some technical skills in a good way unlike Marshall (Eminem), Marshall got too good that it’s like gross, he’s like too technically good that bro we can’t even fathom it. STOP. Wayne is tastefully good now. He’s been good but now Watching one of the greats keep getting better makes no sense to me. Even Jay Z. Like watching Jay getting better, it makes no sense to me. And I just love working with Wayne, ’cause I love hearing him over the beats I put him over.”
Tyler, The Creator’s latest album “Call Me If You Get Lost” debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, making it his second consecutive number 1 after 2019’s “IGOR”.
