Tyler, The Creator Trolls DJ Khaled After Winning Best Rap Album Grammy

Tyler, The Creator seemingly shades DJ Khaled after winning another Grammy.

This year’s Grammy Awards took place last night at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, where Tyler, the Creator was honoured with the best rap album trophy for his latest project  “Call Me If You Get Lost“. He becomes the fifth hip-hop act after Eminem, Kanye West, Outkast and Kendrick Lamar to win a Grammy in this category more than once.

The 31-year-old was not available at the event, but he did react to his win through IG live stream. “First off, I’m hyped,” Tyler said and thanked the album producer DJ Drama. “Thank you to DJ Drama. You are f**king so important to rap music… Thank you to all of my friends for being my cheerleaders. Thank you to my whole team, the whole squad.”

The rapper then seemingly trolls DJ Khaled, who has been beefing with him since 2019, the time when both of them released their studio album “Igor” and “Father of Asahd” in the same week. “And [thank you to DJ Khaled]. I know you’re seething and angry and [saying], ‘Ugh, no one listens to that album’ These arena tours that are selling out say different, and if you put that much energy into something, maybe everyone will be proud of you too.”

When Tyler The Creator’s IGOR (which also won the Grammy for Best Rap Album) outsold Khaled’s Father of Asahd album to take the top place on the Billboard 200 in June 2019, he subtly snubbed Tyler, The Creator’s music. “I make albums so people can play it, and you actually hear it,” he said in a since-deleted Instagram clip. “You know, driving your car, you hear another car playing it. You know, go to the barbershop, you hear them playing it. You know, turn the radio on and you hear them playing it.” “It’s playing everywhere. It’s called great music. It’s called albums that you actually hear the songs. Not no mysterious sh*t that you never hear it.”
