Tory Lanez’s prison stabbing details emerged.
Following news about Tory Lanez being stabbed in prison emerged on Monday night, a statement has been released by his team about the attack by a fellow inmate at the California Correctional Institution.
“Tory was stabbed 14 times — including 7 wounds to his back, 4 to his torso, 2 to the back of his head, and 1 to the left side of his face,” the statement on Instagram reads. “Both of his lungs collapsed, and he was placed on a breathing apparatus. He is now breathing on his own. Despite being in pain, he is talking normally, in good spirits, and deeply thankful to God that he is pulling through. He also wants to thank everyone for the continued prayers and support.”
In a statement to XXL, a spokesperson for California Correctional Institution said: “At approximately 7:20 a.m. today, Daystar Peterson was attacked by another inmate at a housing unit in the California Correctional Institution (CCI) in Tehachapi. Staff immediately responded, activated 911 and began medical aid. Peterson was subsequently transported to an outside medical facility for further treatment. An investigation has been initiated by CCI’s Investigative Services Unit and the Kern County District Attorney’s Office. The Office of the Inspector General has been notified.”
The Canadian artist is currently serving 10 years in prison for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in 2020.
