The Game was snubbed by The Rolling Stone for Greatest Hip Hop Albums.
The Game slipped in some bad news for his fans while bashing Rolling Stone for not adding his 2005 debut effort “The Documentary” on its list of the “200 Greatest Hip Hop Albums Of All Time.”
The Game announced the postponement of the release of his next album, DRILLMATIC, in a long tweet, and also blasted Rolling Stone for excluding him off their current “200 Greatest Hip Hop Albums of All Time” list.
He tweeted on Friday (June 10) that the release date of his new album, Drillmatic, has been moved back to July 1. The project was supposed to drop on June 17 with a staggering 30 new tunes.
@RollingStone how is “The Documentary” not on the list for 200 Greatest Rap Albums Of All Time ? I carried an entire coast for 20 years on the back of my 1st album. Cause I don’t walk red carpets, play dress up, smile or fake laugh at brunches I don’t count ? #Drillmatic July 1st

The Game has been promoting the album for several months, claiming at one point, “You’ve never heard me rap like this, I promise you.” He also stated that the Hit-Boy-produced record will have 30 songs divided into two parts: Mind and Heart.

Drillmatic is executive produced by Hit-Boy, however other than the cover image, little is known about the project. In a rare interview with in March 2021, Game confirmed his return to rap. During the talk, he decried the lack of content in much-marketed rap but was confident that things would improve, especially with his comeback.
“It f**king sucks there’s no real substance in music anymore, but we have to go through it until it’s fruitful again,” he said at the time. “Logic is working with Madlib. And of course, Kendrick and Cole, and then I’m coming back again. Sh*t’s coming.”
“Kendrick and J. Cole can only sit quiet for so long, so you’ll get some good sh*t. And again, I like the f**king Polo Gs, the Pooh Shiestys, and of course Lil Baby, I love it. I’m in my car, I throw on Lil Baby, but everybody’s not Lil Baby. So again, we got to pick and choose what has substance.”
