SZA’s “SOS” is the #1 album in the fourth straight week.
SZA continues her historical run on Billboard 200 as her new album “SOS” earns #1 status in the fourth straight week. The project which already moved over 1 million units in the US, debuted with 315,000 album-equivalent units in the first week. This was highest ever debut for SZA on US Charts, as her debut album “Ctrl” peaked at #3 with 60,000 equivalent units upon its release in 2017.
According to Billboard, the album-equivalent units earned by the artist included 121,500 streaming-equivalent units, totaling 162.42 million on-demand official streams. This represented a four percent decrease from the previous week. The artist’s album sales saw a 289 percent increase, totaling 3,000 units sold, while track-equivalent album sales increased by seven percent, totaling 500 units.
SZA’s album now becomes the first R&B album by a female artist to spend the first four weeks on the US Billboard chart at #1 this century, since Janet Jackson’s “Janet” in 1993.
