Styles P shares thoughts on J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar’s situation.
The hip-hop community is currently divided over J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar’s feud, as the Dreamville boss shared a public apology to K. Dot after dissing him on his new project “Might Delete Later”. Cole is receiving both support and flak from the fans, and now Styles P also shares his thoughts on the situation.
“The emcee with a competitive nature part of me is upset at that young man while the mental wellness take care of your spirit part of me is very proud of him [three crying emojis],” he wrote in a post. “He just confused the sh-t out of my frequencies [three crying emojis] but imma always go with the take care of your spirit and please y’all self before you worry about pleasing others!”
He continued in the caption: “My hypothesis is this is something that he never wanted to do but the nature of the game and what the people say can dictate your movement. Throwing jabs eventually leads to throwing power shots at some point and that ain’t his thing or something he wants to do with his fam so he chose to bow out gracefully, never knock a man for bowing out gracefully or choosing to protect his spirit whether you or agree or not that took courage to do .. I respect the high vibrations part of it all !! I did want to see a lyrical war though that because I’m a petty emcee [three crying emojis] but I salute the young king for being himself.”

During the Dreamville Festival 2024 this past week, J. Cole said about the Kendrick Lamar diss track: “I was conflicted because I know my heart and I know how I feel about my peers. These two ni–as [Kendrick Lamar and Drake] that I’ve been blessed to stand beside in the game, let alone chase they greatness. So, I felt conflicted, because I know I really don’t feel no way, but the world wanna see blood. So, I say all of that to say, in my spirit of trying to get this music out, I’m not even gonna lie to y’all, I moved in a way that I feel spiritually feel bad on. Like, I tried to jab my ni–a back and I tried to keep it friendly.”
“But at the end of the day, when I listen to it… and I see the talk, that sh-t don’t sit right with my spirit. That sh-t disrupts my f–king peace… in the midst of me doing that… and trying to find a little angle and downplay this ni–a’s f–king catalog and his greatness. I wanna say right now tonight, how many people think Kendrick Lamar is one of the greatest muthaf–kas that ever touched a f–king microphone? Dreamville, y’all love Kendrick Lamar, correct? As do I.” “So, I just want to come up here and be like, publicly be like, bruh, that was the lamest, goofiest sh-t,” he added.
