J. Cole drops his new “2014 Forest Hills Drive” project.
After announcing his new album “2014 Forest Hills Drive” a few weeks back, J. Cole has dropped the album which is in stores and available for full free stream. The album consists of 13 tracks with no guest appearances. The Production on the album comes from Cardiak, DJ Dahi, Vinylz, Illmind, and more.
Forest Hills Drive debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 in 2014, selling a total of 371,000 copies, 353,000 of which were complete album sales and the remaining 17,000 based on individual song sales and streaming statistics. This is a tracking modification that Nielsen SoundScan and Billboard adopted in December 2014. Forest Hills Drive debuted in 2014 with the biggest first-week sales of J. Cole’s career, outselling his second album Born Sinner (2013) by 74,000 copies (297,000 copies).
Cole’s third consecutive No. 1 album follows Cole’s 2011 release, Cole World: The Sideline Story, which debuted at the top of the charts with 218,000 copies sold. Born Sinner, his sophomore album, released last year at No. 2 behind Kanye West’s Yeezus, selling 297,000 copies. It would subsequently rise to the top of the charts in its third week.
Album of the Year at the 2015 BET Hip Hop Awards and Top Rap Album at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards went to the album. At the 2016 Grammy Awards, it was nominated for Best Rap Album. At the 2016 Grammy Awards, the song “Apparently” was nominated for Best Rap Performance.
