Tracklist for ‘Spider-Man: Intro The Spider-Verse’ Soundtrack unveiled feat Juice WRLD, Post Malone & others
The animated movie ‘Spider-Man: Intro the Spider-Verse‘ is set to hit theaters across the US on December 14th and the Republic Records and Sony Pictures has unveiled the official tracklist for the soundtrack to the film.
The album will have 13 songs with guest appearances from Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Juice WRLD, Ty Dolla Sign, and more. The first single ‘Sunflower‘ by Post Malone and Swae Lee was released a couple of months ago.
Later, it was discovered that XXTentacion was a “special guest” on Lil Wayne and Ty Dolla $ign’s tune, which drew a lot of attention. We’d previously heard Post Malone and Swae Lee’s latest collaboration, but fresh tracks from Nicki Minaj, Juice WRLD, and Denzel Curry got us even more excited for the actual release.
Many of the songs on the list are collaborations between some of the most popular musicians and up-and-coming underground artists. The album also includes individual tracks by Jaden Smith, Aminé, Thutmose, and others. Despite the fact that many of the songs have a pop feel to them, hip-hop is well-represented in the OST, with rappers accounting for the majority of it.
On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in October, Post Malone revealed that he has written a song for the film called “Sunflower,” which Billboard characterised as a “funky, dreamy ballad.” Swae Lee co-performs on the single, which was premiered on October 18.
On November 1, 2018, Blackway and Black Caviar released their second song, “What’s Up Danger,” which features Blackway and Black Caviar. “Being given the opportunity to be a part of this project is perhaps the best thing that has ever occurred to [him],” Blackway added.
Lil Wayne revealed a sneak peek of his tune with Ty Dolla $ign and a surprise guest in a tweet that was published today (Dec. 10). Many fans believe that XXTentacion is the VIP guest being showcased. My song ‘Scared Of The Dark’ with @tydollasign (and a surprise special guest!) is on the Spider-Man: Into The @SpiderVerse Soundtrack. Pre-Save it here & enter to win 2 tickets to see the movie,” Weezy tweeted.
With 52,000 album-equivalent units and 14,000 pure album sales, the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse soundtrack opened at number five on the US Billboard 200. The soundtrack rose to number two in the week of January 17, 2019, its greatest position ever, owing to its lead song “Sunflower” reaching number one on the US Billboard Hot 100.
