Soulja Boy reflects on 50 Years of Hip-Hop.
The Hip-Hop genre turned 50 years old this past weekend, and the rap fraternity celebrated the occasion at Yankee Stadium. While some of the hip-hop icons performed at the event, some rap artists reflected on the occasion on their social media.
Soulja Boy, who is known for starting many trends in hip-hop, took to his social media and claimed that he birthed the internet wave of hip-hop. “When I came in the game they said I killed hip hop,” Soulja Boy states in the tweet below. “But really, I birthed the new wave of hip hop with internet/streaming. Ahead of my time. #HipHop50”
