Snoop Dogg honored with Ultimate Icon Tribute Award at 2025 BET Awards.
The 2025 BET Awards took place at Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, where the hometown legend Snoop Dogg was honoured with Ultimate Icon Tribute Award. The Death Row mogul was accompanied by his wife Shante, and was presented the award by none other than Dr. Dre.
In his speech, he thanked the fellow greats Dr. Dre, Jamie Foxx, Mariah Carey, Kirk Franklin and more. “Hip-hop, it gave me a voice. I gave me a purpose,” Snoop said during his acceptance speech. “Being an icon, it ain’t about fame. It’s about legacy. It’s about what you build, what you leave behind, and who you lift up along the way.”
He also showed love for his wife in his speech. “See, this is why I’m so rock solid. This is why I’m able to deal with all of the things I’m able to deal with. I’ve got God in my life, and I’ve got a queen in my life. No matter what, she held me down, she hold me down, she’s always been there for me. She’s always been my everything. That’s why she’s on stage tonight. That’s why she’s in my life.”
He then performed a medley of hits like “Gin and Juice,” “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” “Beautiful,” “Nuthin’ But A “G” Thang,” and “Ain’t No Fun (If the Homies Can’t Have None)” with help from Charlie Wilson, Warren G and Kurupt.
