Snoop Dogg reflect on his assumption on Drake when he first came out.
Last year, during one of his GGN Podcast episodes, Snoop Dogg revealed his first reaction to hearing Drake and said that he thought the Toronto rapper wouldn’t last a few years in the game.
“When Drake first came out, I was like, ‘He just gon’ be here and gone tomorrow.’ Because I was like, I keep hearing basic sh*t,” he revealed. “That muthaf**ka don’t miss. In the heat of battle, he don’t miss. In the heat of controversy, he don’t miss. And then he just knows how to be a public relation type of muthaf**ka to shoot a video where he passing out money … Come on, man. That ni**a made, ‘Kiki, do you love me?’ when Pusha T took off on him. Like, ‘You can have my head, but I’m gonna have everybody in your family and everybody in the world singing this f**king, ‘Kiki, do you love me?’ Like, that’s the answer.”
Snoop Dogg also compared Drake’s undeniable run to Michael Jackson’s, adding gasoline to the flames of the Drake vs. Michael Jackson argument that has recently raged on social media.“[Drake was like], ‘I’m finna fuck these ni–as up. Finna do some Michael Jackson shit.’ And he did that,” Snoop said. “All hail the king, you gotta give him his. He didn’t ask for it, he took that shit.”
Now Uncle Snoop appeared on Complex’s “360 with Speedy Morman,” where he addressed his last year’s revelation about his assumption on Drake’s Career. “That ni**a ain’t going nowhere. What was I thinking? But that’s what we do in hip-hop. We limit until somebody goes over the limit, and that’s what he did. That’s what hip-hop is, to me. He probably took all that shit in when he was hearing all that about, ‘You’re only gonna be here three or four more years,’’and was like, ‘Alright, f*ck that. Watch what I’m finna do,” says Snoop. “(Drake was like), ‘I’m finna f**k these ni***s up. Finna do some Michael Jackson sh*t.’ And he did that … All hail the king, you gotta give him his. He didn’t ask for it, he took that sh*t.”
He continues, “We always gotta have somebody to go to the next level. To me, he gives me comfort in saying that if I ever wanted to leave the game, it’s in good hands. I think that’s what my forefathers did for me when they seen me take control of the game and run with it. They was at ease.”
On Thursday, Drake took to his Instagram, and showed some love to Eminem and Snoop Dogg, calling Marshall “Underappreciated” and Snoop “Too Raw”.
