Sizzla burns platinum plaques for his contribution to DJ Khaled’s album.
Sizzla is not happy with DJ Khaled, as he destroyed the plaques he received for his contribution to the record executive’s albums.
The Jamaican reggae musician took to his social media to share clips of him taking apart platinum plaques for ‘Father of Asahd’ and ‘Grateful.’ It is not specified why the singer feels disrespected, but it looks to be how his name was placed on the plaques.
“DJ Khaled, man, ya insulted me. You insult Jamaica,” he said in the clip. “Wrong plaque ya send me. Burn the devil, burn corruption. Wrong plaque ya send me. Can’t even see me name.” “You’re not the best, you’re the worst,” he said in another clip while he burned all the platinum plaques.
Before destroying the plaques, Sizzla took out the pictures of Khaled’s kids. “Babies are innocent,” he said. “This is my godchild right here, okay? Rastafari. Put this in my studio.”
Sizzla never specifically names the transgression DJ Khaled committed against him, therefore it is still unclear why the We The Best leader offended him. He discussed his enthusiasm for everything Jamaican with Grammy.com in an interview from the previous year. “I grew up listening to dancehall, playing dancehall music with hip-hop. As a young kid, I used to be in Jamaica, I use to basically live in Miami and Jamaica,” Khaled said. “Dancehall is part of my story, Jamaica is part of my story.”
Sizzla contributed to Khaled’s last three albums, which includes the most recent “These Streets Know My Name” on the “God Did” album.
