Russ aiming for Billboard 200 top 10 with the new album SANTIAGO.
Russ was among one of the rappers that released their latest album this past week, as the Atlanta artist dropped his brand new project SANTIAGO. The first-week projection for the album is here, and Russ is aiming for a top-10 debut on US Billboard 200.
According to HDD, the album will move around 52k equivalent units in the first week, which will see him challenging for the top 5 spots. “Top 5 INDEPENDENTLY?!?! Nahhhh this is crazy y’all are the best fans in the world let’s f–kin go!!!!,” he wrote.

“Never thought becoming this version of myself was possible tbh,” he said at the time of release. “Just didn’t see it. I’m proud of myself tho for not givin up and constantly tryna find answers and navigate internally. Sh-ts payin off in ways I only coulda dreamed about. It’s amazing what can happen when you just don’t quit.”
“‘I Love You Boy’ was probably the hardest one because it was the most confronting,” he revealed in new interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe. “It was me saying stuff that I just- there’s a lot of shame in my life. Shame’s played a very big part in my life. I think it plays a big part in a lot of men’s life, but it plays a big part especially when you’re a perfectionist.”
“And so, having to accept that I am flawed, and that I maybe didn’t do everything the right way, and I didn’t know as much as I thought I did, is tough,” he added. “And that’s my arrogance. The arrogance is the omnipotence to think that what I know now, I should have known then.”
“I’ve never had a number 1 album on iTunes before. We’re at number 2 rn. Shoutout to all the fans who are supporting and who listened to SANTIAGO with an open mind. The fact it’s resonating to the point where y’all wanna support like this is so awesome. I been workin on all this for years and to see it finally out in the world impacting real people is f–king sick. Thank you!!!!,” he wrote in a tweet.
The new album follow-up to his recently released “Chomp 2.5” EP and 2021’s “Chomp 2” album. The project featured 13 tracks, with guest appearances from Justin Nozuka, Rexx Life Raj and Bibu Bourelly on three songs.
