Royce da 5’9″ talks about the possibility of “Bad Meets Evil 2” with Eminem.
Royce da 5’9″ who will appear on XXL’s spring 2020 issue, did a new interview with the magazine through video call along with his fellow producer/rapper Mr. Porter. On the show, they talk about a lot of things including the possibility of ‘Bad Meets Evil’ album with Eminem. “I would love to,” said Royce about making a ‘Bad Meets Evil‘ follow-up. “That’s one of those things that it’s whenever he feels ready… I can never mention Bad Meets Evil to him in a way where it’s like, ‘Come on man, let’s do this!’ There are too many ways that can be taken. I kind of look at it like he graduated to a level where he can call when it’s going to happen. We move on his accord when it comes to that.”
In a tweet sent out in Royce’s honour for his 45th birthday, Eminem shared Royal’s tweet regarding the chance to invest in “Caterpillar.”
Happy B’day @royceda59, he said in the caption. What can we do to surpass this? The message seemed to imply that further partnerships will soon be announced.

However, Mr. Porter, who was the executive producer on ‘Hell: The Sequel‘ is more optimistic. “It will happen for sure,” says Denaun. “It’s a staple now. It’s like a brand. You can’t just desert a brand like that. You just have to make sure it’s at the right time and I think it’s the perfect time now.” Check out the full interview here on XXL.
Royce da 5’9″ encouraged fans at an Australian concert late last year to spam Eminem with questions about Bad Meets Evil 2, the long-awaited sequel to 2011’s Hell: The Sequel. This fueled speculation that the album would be released shortly, much to the pleasure of fans. Royce explained in a new interview with HipHopDX that while they have some songs completed, they haven’t been actively working on the project.
“We got a couple of songs in the vault that we messed with a while ago,” he said. “It ain’t been an opportunity to do nothing with each other. I see him on the road. I got my own studio now so I’m not at his studio as much as I used to be. And he’s always working. It would literally take for him to just call me and be like ‘Yo, let’s do it.’ I’ll make time because I had so much fun doing it. It’s easy, it’s not a lot of work. It’s one of those fun challenges.”
The two rappers have a lengthy history of cooperation, most recently on “Not Alike” and “Caterpillar” in 2018. Hell: The Sequel was published almost a decade after they initially collaborated on Nothin’ 2 Do/Scary Movies, a three-track maxi-single released in 1999. That same year, Royce participated in a song called “Bad Meets Evil” from Em’s sophomore album, The Slim Shady LP.
Recently on Instagram, Royce also revealed some new instrumentals and asked fans about which one to sent to Eminem.
