Royce and Denaun congratulate Eminem on 12-year sobriety.
On April 20th, It’s been 12 years since Eminem became sober, who was once taking up to 60 Valium and 30 Vicodin pills a day during the peak of his drug addiction. Like the last couple of years, Eminem celebrates sobriety by sharing his annual ‘Unity Service & Recovery‘ coin which is rewarded to Alcoholics Anonymous members and other 12 step program users after key points in their recovery. “Clean dozen, in the books! I’m not afraid.” wrote Eminem this year with the 12th year sobriety coin. The good friends and fellow artists of Eminem, Royce da 5’9″ and Denaun Porter also praises him for achieving this achievement.
“🔥12🔥 proud of you broski,🙏🏽” wrote Denaun, and “12 years And counting… Proud of my brother 🌹” written by Royce da 5’9″ on Instagram to congratulate Eminem.
Em’s path to recovery began in 2005, when he entered rehab to seek treatment for a sleeping medication addiction. However, in December 2007, he came dangerously close to death as a result of a methadone overdose. He was rushed to the hospital after a night of heavy use, when physicians warned him that he’d used the equivalent of four bags of heroin and was “approximately two hours from death.” “It’s no secret I had a drug problem,” he told Vibe magazine in 2009. “If I was to give you a number of Vicodin I would actually take in a day? Anywhere between 10 to 20. Valium, Ambien, the numbers got so high I don’t even know what I was taking.”
