Roddy Ricch Calls Out Kanye West for pissing at Grammy.
Roddy Ricch is one of the up-and-coming Hip-Hop stars, as he had a great 2020 for which he was nominated in 6 categories at this year’s Grammys. At the show, he also performed his hit ‘The Box‘ but misses out on winning a Grammy. After the show, the Roddy Ricch took to IG for a live stream where he apparently calls out Kanye West for disrespecting the Grammys. It’s because of this belief that he has concerns with Kanye West’s actions. The rapper went on a social media firestorm, posting multiple photos, including one in which he urinates on a Grammy award in his toilet bowl to symbolize his disdain for the Grammys. Despite his antics last year, he earned an award this year in an unexpected turn of events.
“I look at it like art class. Like if you tell someone to draw this or they draw something and the teacher look at it and say, ‘Man that’s an F.’ I never got an F in art. You can scribble some sh*t on a paper and get an A because it’s art,” he explained. “It’s whatever you interpret it as. I ain’t never going to let nobody grade me. I’m always going to look at art like it’s an A+ every time you put it out because it’s art.”
“I be really wanting to talk about a lot of the ni**as that’s in the industry, like, a lot of the Black artists, the older n**as who been doing all this shit for so long and they be hatin’ on all the young ni**as,” says Roddy Ricch. “If I get nominated for six Grammys and a ni**a I look to that had 22, 23, 24, 25 of these motherfu**ers and I come in here, I wanna get nominated for six this year, I feel like that’s a good number.”
Then he says that Kanye West pissing at a Grammy trophy last year dismisses his accomplishment. Roddy seems to be directing his ire at Kanye West, whom he believes violated the Grammys by pissing on one of his 22 awards in 2020. Kanye, according to the 22-year-old, should be setting a good example for someone like Roddy, who is attending a lot of award events for the first or second time in his career.
“And this year this ni**a just pissed on that sh*t,” Roddy Ricch continues, “Like, how you think that makes the world look at my accomplishment, ni**a? I did all this sh*t and you pissin’ on sh*t. That sh*t be lame. I don’t really like that sh*t.”
On Sunday, Kanye received his 22nd Grammy Award for his gospel album, Jesus Is King, which won Best Contemporary Christian Music Album. Roddy Ricch released a sentimental single titled “Heartless (Live From LA)” early Monday after attending the Grammy Awards (March 15).
