Raftaar surprise dropped his new EP “HARD DRIVE Vol. 1”
Our rating: 9.3/10
Mr. Nair is back and that too on his birthday!
After playing hide and seek for a year, Raftaar is back with his latest project HARD DRIVE Vol. 1.
The rapper offered his fanbase the ideal present in return and a reason for celebration on his 34th birthday. Everyone just anticipated Raftaar and Badshah working together on a song. However, no one was aware that he would be releasing the entire EP.
The Hard Drive EP joins the “BAR-ISh EP” and the two earlier records “Mr. Nair” and “Zero to Infinity” in his catalog. The EP features a tonne of pop culture parallels and a range of sounds that would instantly catch everybody’s intrigue.
Hard Drive vol 1. has truly taken everyone by surprise and left them in amazement with the pedigree of production, its freshness, and featured cameos.
Regarding teamwork, Raftaar didn’t fall short. On his tracks, he features some exciting producer as DXOR, HARM SANDHU, FRISK, TRACK PROS, YOUNG WILLY, UMAIR, and Raftaar. Additionally, his features became even doper when he invited the much anticipated BADSHAH, KRSNA, DEEP KALSI, KARMA, and SIKANDAR KHALON to provide verses that went in a broader direction throughout seven tracks. Unexpectedly, FARIS SHAFI, one of Pakistan’s most well-known rappers, was also included.
In terms of the introductory track, ‘Ice,’ it directly contrasts Raftaar’s fanaticism with that of his rivals. And goes on to discuss the intake of wacky music. This high-energy song is sufficient to get the crowd going. Raftaar also included an English verse at the conclusion. The most inspirational song is F16. Anytime Sikandar Kahlon and Raftaar collaborate, the result is always thrilling. Both rappers draw on their ferocious rhymes and perform with a passionate, motivating attitude. I believe This song is indeed an thank you letter for the team and close friends of Raftaar, and it is titled after an F16 jet fighter, demonstrating the never back down mindset of both artists. Raftaar respectfully acknowledged POP SMOKE and recalled his legacy. He paid Smoke much-deserved homage for the second time after Saza-E-Maut.
A unique track that stands out on the EP is “Gangnum.” The hook and spitting really are insane. In this song, Raftaar discussed cutting the snakes out of his crew. Deep Kalsi sang more frequently than he did, so when he showed off his rapping abilities, he was hardly recognizable. He rapped about how winning is nothing new to him.
Regarding the song No China, it was designed with the idea of being the realest thing possible while still being bogus. Raftaar’s disinterest in labels and branding is reflected in this track. Additionally, he values genuine people over luxury stuff. A piece of outstanding music with a fantastic groove and stunning soundtrack. Krsna, who is getting his presence known with each track he releases, is the ideal person to join such a composition.
Raftaar talks about his attitude and pursuit of greater ambitions in the song “36.” He even made fun of others who called him greedy. As he raps, “Mujhko 36 chahiye bangle, Mujhko 36 chahiye gadi,” 36 also denotes several sorts of desi lingo. He compares his goal of being the richest man in the world for a good cause with homages from the name. The hook is strong, as Karma once more dazzled us with his cleverness while teasing his audience by providing a few hints about his history.
Raftaar partnered with ‘BADSHAH’ in Raashah. It’s been a long time coming, and witnessing them on the very same track is a real treat. Since Mafia Mundeer disbanded, musicians collaborated on a track called Desi Hip Hop. The fans craved this cooperation as much as Mad, and they worked together to produce a classic. When Badshah appears on a track, he always attempts to compliment the styles of another rapper, which he accomplishes brilliantly. These artists are well-known in DHH. This song has a chorus accompanied by a double wordplay. Raftaar also used secret messages in his operations. It’s a song that every fan will find themselves playing incessantly.
Raftaar wraps up the EP with the Pakistani rapper Faris Shafi’s song “Jashan-E-Hiphop,” which no one could have ever dreamed of. Umair, a talented Pakistani sound engineer, created the song. The group turned up the heat. The collaboration of Indian and Pakistani musicians on this tune justifies the term “Jashan-E-hiphop.” the rhythm transition, samples from vintage Bollywood films, strong basslines, crazy flows, and lyrics were all legitimately bullets.
The strong fist jabs that are knocking everyone out all around are what drive the entire episode. With some clever verses, sword rhyming schemes, and top-off slicing flows, Raftaar once more displayed his impressive handwriting skills and flexibility. Otherwise, the best This EP will dominate the markets and streams for a very long time, and Hard Drive Vol. 1 will be enormous compared to the previous DHH Projects.
