Post Malone to grab top spot on Billboard 200 with new album “Twelve Carat Toothache”.
This week, Post Malone has finally released his long-awaited fourth studio “Twelve Carat Toothache“, laced with music videos “Cooped Up” with Roddy Ricch and last year’s “One Right Now” with The Weeknd. The project packs 14 tracks, with additional guest appearances from Doja Cat, Gunna, Fleet Foxes and The Kid LAROI.
The first-week sales projections are in, and the album is expected to top the Billboard 200. According to HDD, the album is heading toward a projected opening of 115-130k equivalent units in it’s first week, which will get him his third consecutive #1.

On a Reddit thread dedicated to Malone, several users discussed the apparent difficulty that artists have been having moving units like they used to. “Given the fact that Kendrick Lamar just sold 283K after the amount of hype he carried and selling 600K+ with his last album, it feels incredibly harder to move units nowadays than before. Especially with the new Billboard rules.”
This puts him on par with Jack Harlow, who was expected to sell 110K to 135K copies of his sophomore album, Come Home The Kids Miss You, in the first week.
Malone’s previous project “Hollywood’s Bleeding” was dropped in 2019, and debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 with 489,000 album-equivalent units, including 200,000 pure sales. The project had features from DaBaby, Future, Meek Mill, Lil Baby, Travis Scott, Halsey, SZA, Young Thug and others. The album also includes the Billboard Hot 100 number one single “Sunflower” with Swae Lee.
