Uzi Vert will become the first rapper to top the Billboard chart this year, as no hip-hop album debuted at #1 in 2023. The project was streamed 53.4 million times on its opening day on Spotify, which is the biggest for a rap album this year, and the 11th biggest of all time.
After a few days of the release, there’s a decline in the projected sales for the Pink Tape. According to HDD, the album will now move 165k equivalent units in the first week. The numbers will still ensure that Uzi Vert earns the first rap #1 album of 2023.
