Lil Durk’s “7220” to debut at No. 1 on Billboard 200.
Lil Durk is approaching a major turning point in his career. 7220, his most recent release, is expected to be his first No. 1 on Billboard.
The Chicago native is anticipated to top the Billboard 200 charts with 7220, his long-awaited studio album that was released on Friday, according to Hits Daily Double forecasts. Within its first week, the album is expected to sell 120,000 to 130,000 album-equivalent units, ultimately ending the Encanto soundtrack’s eight-week reign.
7220, if the calculations are accurate, will be Durk’s first No. 1 solo album. Its antecedent, The Voice, started at No. 46 with only 23,000 copies (Thursday sales, not a full week), whereas his joint effort with Lil Baby, The Voice of the Heroes, launched at No. 1 with 150,000 units in 2021.
Alamo/SME’s Lil Durk will score his first #1 solo album this week, as 7220 is on pace to unseat Encanto’s 8-week run atop the album chart. Durk’s 7220 is projected to be in the 120-130k range. @HITSDD https://t.co/DH6c0WPix2 pic.twitter.com/gQNedmJynP
