21 Savage to earn top debut on Billboard 200 with American Dream.
21 Savage made his return to music this week with a surprise third solo studio album “American Dream“. The rapper is now expected to earn this first #1 rap album of 2024 on the US Billboard 200.
According to HDD, the album which was released through Slaughter Gang/Epic, is projected to moved 130-150 equivalent album units in the first week. All 15 tracks of the album are also expected to chart on the US Hot 100.
On the opening day, American Dream was streamed 42 million times on Spotify. The album also landed all 15 tracks in Apple Music’s top 10 on the opening day of release.
The new album is a follow-up to his 2018’s second solo album “I Am > I Was”. In 2022, the rapper teamed up with Drake for a joint album “Her Loss.” “I Am > I Was” topped the US Billboard 200 with 131,000 album-equivalent units, of which 18,000 were pure sales. “Her Loss” also debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 with 404,000 album-equivalent units in the first week.
