Playboi Carti has been arrested on a felony assault charge in Georgia. According to TMZ, the rapper allegedly choked his pregnant girlfriend after an argument over a paternity test.
The Woman reportedly told the Georgia police that Carti grabbed her by her throat and pushed her, while holding her neck until she could barely breathe. She even stated that she thought she was going to die.
As per the statement, the woman has been in a relationship with the ‘Whole Lotta Red’ rapper for around 2 years and lived with him since July 2022, and she was 14 weeks pregnant at the time of the incident which occurred on December 20th.
“Mr. Carter was falsely accused. Pursuant to my communications with the Fulton County District Attorney‘s office, this case will be dismissed without any prosecution or litigation,” states Playboi Carti’s attorney Brian Steel.
On December 29, Playboi Carti was arrested and charged with felony aggravated assault and hindering a person from making an emergency phone call. He was taken to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office and released the next day after posting a $100,000 bond, as per police records.
