Nicki Minaj celebrates Trinidad and Tobago Carnival.
Nicki Minaj made her return to social media this week as she posted a series of pictures of her outfit for the annual carnival celebration of her hometown Trinidad and Tobago. “Thank you to TRIBE for this gorgeous costume,” she wrote on her post for the Carnival which took place from 20th to 21st February.
The Queen of Barbz now shared a clip from the celebration, where she performed her verse on recently released “Shake The Place (Remix)” by Destra & Machel Montano. “Trinidad my country, the greatest carnival of all time / I’m reppin’ that red, that white, that black / I’m reppin’ my real flag,” she raps.

Just the other day, Minaj posted a clip with Destra & Machel Montano, with a caption: “LEGENDARY FOOTAGE WITH THE GREATS OF MY COUNTRY. I COULDN’T BE MORE PROUD IF I TRIED. I REPPIN DAT RED DAT WHITE DAT BLACK I REPPIN MY REAL FLAG. wish my grandmother was alive to see this. Wish daddy was alive to see this. See you tmrw, Trinidad.”
In the previous week, Minaj collaborated with Machel Montano and Destra to release a remix of their single, “Shake the Place,” where she reminisced about her Caribbean heritage “Trinidad my country, the greatest carnival of all time,” she raps. “I’m reppin’ that red, that white, that black / I’m reppin’ my real flag,” she raps on the track.
