The first part of “Jeen-Yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy” Documentary releasing in February.
Last year, Netflix announced a new Kanye West documentary “Jeen-Yuhs”, a three-part docuseries. The Documentary has been in the work for 21 years and was reportedly sold to Netflix for $30 million. The film is directed by Coodie Simmons and Chike Ozah, the duo who also made Ye’s “Through the Wire” and third video of “Jesus Walks”.
Now the first part of the documentary gets a release date, as Netflix announced that it will drop next month on February 16 on their platform, after the theatre release on February 10th. The new trailer shows Ye after his wisdom tooth removal, making music in the studio with Jay-Z, being at home with his mother Donda, and more.
It will include a never-before-seen vintage video of Ye. The film was supposed to premiere at the 2022 Sundance Film Festival later this month, but owing to the emergence of Omicron, the in-person ceremony was cancelled. Instead, a virtual event will take its place. Last September, Netflix released a trailer for the documentary.
The previous trailer of the documentary showed unseen Kanye West footages, including a younger Yeezy rapping “Two Words” alongside Mos Def. The song appeared on his debut album “The College Dropout”, which was released in 2004.
