Netflix announces the Kanye West documentary “Jeen-Yuhs” with a new trailer.
Netflix has announced a new Kanye West documentary titled “Jeen-Yuhs“, which is a multi-part docuseries. They dropped the official trailer for the film, as part of their TUDUM fan event. The Documentary has been in the work for 21 years and was reportedly sold to Netflix for $30 million. The film is directed by Coodie Simmons and Chike Ozah, the duo who also made Ye’s “Through the Wire” and third video of “Jesus Walks”.
The official trailer shows unseen Kanye West footages, including a younger Yeezy rapping “Two Words” alongside Mos Def. The song appeared on his debut album “The College Dropout”, which was released in 2004. The GOOD Music boss is not creatively involved in the project but allowed the directors to film him for 21 years. The Documentary is scheduled to release next year in 2022.
Kanye West recently dropped his new album “DONDA” which debuted at #1 on Billboard, with the second-highest first-week numbers of 2021.
West won his first gospel Grammy and 22nd career Grammy for his “Jesus Is King” album earlier this year, marking the first time he has been honored by the Recording Academy since 2013. West won rap/hip hop album for “Jesus Is King” and rap/hip hop recorded single for “Follow God” at the GMA (Gospel Music Association) Dove Awards, in addition to traditional gospel album for “Jesus Is Born.”
