NAV feared Drake’s feature will overshadow the whole of his new album “Demons Protected By Angels”.
On his recently released album, Demons Protected by Angels, Nav has explained why he chose against working with Drake.
On a recent episode of the Full Send Podcast, the producer turned rapper revealed and discussed the reasoning for the ambitious decision. When asked why he didn’t want the 6 God’s song to dominate the other of his record, NAV said that most other musicians would love for a cameo from the group.
“Drake’s an amazing person and we hang out all the time in Toronto,” he said. “We did a song. I feel we could’ve done a better song and the timeframe was just not good, it didn’t work out.”
He continued: “He’s such a big artist that I didn’t want to put the song on the album and have it take away from anything else on the album. You know, take away life from all the other moments.” “So you had a song with Drake and you’re purposefully not putting it on your album?” co-host Kyle Forgeard asked in disbelief. “That is pretty crazy.”
Future, Travis Scott, Gunna, Bryson Tiller, and others appear on Demons Protected By Angels, which was released on Friday (September 9). However the choice was dubious, the goal is that this partnership will see the sunlight of one day.
NAV has yet to collaborate with Drake, therefore this would have been their first song together.
