Nas Reflect On Takeoff's Death We Can't Be Destroying Each Other Over Bullsht

Nas pays homage to the late Takeoff.

It’s been a couple of weeks since we lost the Migos rapper Takeoff after he was shot and killed in Houston. A Memorial Service in memory of the rapper was taken place in his hometown at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, which featured Offset, Quavo, Drake, Cardi B, Justin Bieber, Lil Yachty, Mustard, City Girls, YG and more.

The tributes are still pouring in for the late rapper, and now Nas also reflects on the passing of Takeoff. “I got to say Rest in peace to Takeoff,” Nas said at the album release party for “King’s Disease 3“. “We’re trying to tell these people out here, man, we’re here for a purpose. We can’t be destroying each other over bullsh*t. Look at these little brothers and be like don’t shoot… don’t throw your life away. It ain’t worth it. There’s something to live for, something to be here for.”

He continued, “All that tough sh*t is cool when you’re growing up, but we gotta learn that we’re here for a purpose, and there is a design that’s out here to make sure we don’t grow, to make sure that we don’t make it. And we gotta recognize that there is something in existence that’s trying to stop the youth from the hood from growing into its proper purpose.”

Coach K, a co-founder of Quality Control Music, expressed a similar sentiment in an emotional Instagram tribute to his protege. “Young Brothers we have to stop this senseless violence this not cool,” he wrote at the time. “Young brothers & sisters should be giving a chance to get to grow old. PLEASE start caring about life more.”
