The post is in response to Kendrick acknowledging Nas on the album’s opening song “wacced out murals.” He also sampled “One Mic” for the song “man at the garden.” On the opening track, Kendrick addresses the Super Bowl controversy, and how Nas was the only one congratulated him.
“Used to bump Tha Carter 3, I held my Rollie chain proud / Irony, I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down / Whatever, though, call me crazy, everybody questionable / Turn me to an Eskimo, I drew the line and decimals,” he raps.
He continued: “Won the Super Bowl and Nas the only one congratulate me / All these ni–as agitated, I’m just glad they showed they faces / Quite frankly, plenty artists but they outdated / Old-a-s flows, tryna convince me that you they favorite / This is not for lyricists, I swear it’s not the sentiments / F–k a double entendre, I want y’all to feel this sh-t.”
When K. Dot was announced as the headliner for 2025 Super Bowl halftime show, Nas posted: “Congratulations to my brotha @kendricklamar. Can’t wait to watch the party die!!!!”
