Nas’ Mass Appeal Launches label in India.
Nas‘ Mass Appeal has officially launched its label in India in partnership with Universal Music India. The Mass Appeal Indian will be based within Universal Music India’s Mumbai Office and will function as a multi-channel partnership between the two labels. The label also signed their first artist who’s one of India’s most popular rappers, DIVINE.
The new label’s operations will be centered in Mumbai at Universal Music India’s headquarters, and it will be a multi-channel collaboration between the two firms. According to the release, Mass Appeal India will sign and collaborate with artists from India’s fastest-growing music scene, as well as partner with businesses and content creators to link the culture with a global audience through Mass Appeal’s global network. All Mass Appeal India releases will be released exclusively by UMG internationally, with select artists and projects receiving additional support across UMG’s network of more than 60 territories.
Nas also collaborated with DIVINE and another Indian rapper Naezy earlier this year on the song called ‘NY se Mumbai‘ which was a promo song for the Hip-Hop Indian film Gully Boy. Along with their new deal, Nas and DIVINE also sat down for a little interview. Watch it below.
