Missy Elliott gives inspiration for New Year.
As we are into 2023, Missy Elliott took to her social media to give an inspirational message to the fans and wishes everyone on New Year.
“I wanna say Happy New Year to everyone! Now listen, you gotta walk in to 2023 being fearless,” she said in the clip. “You gotta make sure that the friends that you around match your energy. You don’t need nobody lazy around you or with negative energy because you don’t want nothing to block your blessing.”
She continued: “So make sure that you are full of peace and happiness and whatever you wanna do, you do it this year. Anything that you wanna become, you become it this year. Have drive, have consistency. And yeah, 2023 is yours! We gon’ already claim that.”
She wrote in the caption: “It’s gonna be a PRODUCTIVE & PROSPEROUS YEAR because you gonna step out on FAITH. Mentally you gonna be in a better space than before! JUST CLAIM IT 2023 is YOURS!”

In a recent interview, Busta Rhymes praised Elliott for her iconic music videos in the past. “That’s my twin sister,” he said. “I love her on undescribable levels. She has been moving out here in such a phenomenally iconic way. She just got her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this year. She just got a street named after her. She got a doctorate, I believe. And I just seen that she recently got her Madame Toussaint Wax Museum statue. Her s–t is on a whole ‘nother level of icon right now. So I’m super proud. Congrats to Missy.”
Missy Elliott had a banner year with the unveiling of her own street in her hometown of Portsmouth, Virginia. In August, the Portsmouth City Council voted unanimously to rename a street in the entertainment district to Missy Elliott Boulevard, honoring the iconic rapper and producer’s highly celebrated career.
