Millyz reflects on Eminem’s influence on his career.
Following the release of his new album “Blanco 6”, Millyz recently sat down with AllHipHop for a new interview, where the white rapper from Cambridge, Massachusetts reflected on his hip-hop career, and credited Eminem for influencing him to rap.
“Eminem was probably the one that made me go, ‘He did it, I can do it,’” he said. “Because there wasn’t that example. Eminem, Paul Wall. As far as me, looking in the mirror like, ‘OK, there are some serious white rappers.”
Just recently, Millyz released his song “Tonight”, which featured the sample from Eminem’s classic Stan. “I sampled the sample that [Eminem] sampled,” he added. “I sampled Dido’s voice that he sampled on ‘Stan.’ So, I sampled the ‘Stan’ sample. Even when I put it out I said, ‘Yo, I just cleared the ‘Stan’ sample!’ To me, it’s a ‘Stan’ sample cause I don’t know the other song. But thank you to her.”
Millyz is presently promoting his latest album, Blanco 6, through various appearances. He has a close association with Jadakiss and has collaborated with him through the multimedia creative collective, SoRaspy. Millyz has also teamed up with other popular artists such as Dave East, Mozzy, Peezy, Fivio Foreign, Styles P, and G Herbo.
Elsewhere in the interview, he also talks about Eminem Comparisons, Jadakiss’s Advice, Advice To Special Ed Kids, Drugs & Mental Health and more.
