Every year during the Holiday season, Mariah Carey trends for her global hit “All I Want For Christmas Is You”, and now she makes history on Spotify. The song which was originally released back in 1994, now reaks the all-time records for the biggest single-day streams in Spotify chart history.
According to the platform, the song was streamed 21.27 million times a day before Christmas, which is the biggest peak in Spotify history.

The song recently scored a milestone 10th week at #1 on Billboard Hot 100, making her the first woman with three songs that have led the chart for double-digit weeks.
The track was released as part of her fourth and first-holiday album “Merry Christmas” which was dropped in 1994. The song was produced by Carey and Walter Afanasieff, and released through Columbia Records/Legacy Recordings. It is estimated sold over 14 million copies worldwide and is the best-selling holiday song by a female artist, and one of the best-selling physical singles in music history.
The Economist has calculated that Mariah Carey earns about $2.5 million in annual royalties from her song “All I Want for Christmas is You,” while The New York Post estimated an even higher number of about $3 million. The artist already collected $60 million in royalties for the song’s first 1994 release, which came on top of this sum.
