Machine Gun Kelly makes sure Megan Fox think twice before removing his engagement ring.
After dating for a couple of years, Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox announced their engagement earlier this month to kick-off 2022. The two shared the proposal clip on their social media, and the 35-year-old Model and Actress revealed that they drank each other’s blood after she said yes.
“In July of 2020 we sat under this banyan tree. We asked for magic,” Megan wrote in her caption. “We were oblivious to the pain we would face together in such a short, frenetic period of time. Unaware of the work and sacrifices the relationship would require from us but intoxicated off of the love. And the karma. Somehow a year and a half later, having walked through hell together, and having laughed more than I ever imagined possible, he asked me to marry him. And just as in every lifetime before this one, and as in every lifetime that will follow it, I said yes. …and then we drank each other’s blood. 1.11.22.”
Now the couple sat down with Vogue for a new interview, where they talked about the engagement among other things. “We released it to control the narrative,” said MGK on why they announced the engagement on Social Media. “As opposed to someone just catching a weird cell phone picture of a ring on our hand and being like, whoa! But yeah, I didn’t expect it. I just recorded it on my cell phone. And it wasn’t like we had photographers or anything. It was just like me setting my phone against a cup.”
Talking about the double diamond ring, the rapper turned pop funk artist revealed that Megan Fox will get hurt if she tries to remove it. “It’s a thoroughbred Colombian emerald, with no treatment,” he said. “It was just carved into the teardrop, straight out of the mine. And the diamond was directly from Stephen. The concept is that the ring can come apart to make two rings. When it’s together, it’s held in place by a magnet. So you see how it snaps together? And then it forms an obscure heart. And you see this right here? The bands are actually thorns. So if she tries to take it off, it hurts… Love is pain!”
Fox was formerly married to actor Brian Austin Green, with and who she had three children. After nearly ten years of marriage, the pair divorced in 2020, but had been dating on and off since 2004, when they met on the set of Hope & Faith when Fox was 18 years old. Kelly is getting married for the first time.
