What happens when you cross paths with Eminem? Well, if you’re Mac Miller and you have a broken hand, you apparently get mocked. Rollback to memory lane when Eminem Rapping without his famous face & his Slim Shady LP release, Earlier this year, Busta Rhymes reveals his first-time Reaction when he Heard Eminem. Every other new Artist wants to meet Eminem & in 2012 Mac Miller was one of them, the two met in Japan by Mac & the Detroit Rapper’s Common Friend DJ Alchemist.

Miller (nee McCormick)tragically passed on Friday (September 7) at the age of 26. From what appears, Mac Miller’s cause of death is a drug overdose. And, while he and Eminem never worked together in the studio, nor did Marshall Mathers join the nearly countless famous mourners on social media, The Real Slim Shady had a genuine live admiration for the Pittsburgh-bred MC.

Mac, whose arm was in a cast after an injury he suffered while on the Under the Influence of Music tour with Wiz Khalifa and Kendrick Lamar, immediately hit it off with Slim Shady. “So I was wearing my cast, and Em comes out, and he was super funny. He walks out and he’s like, ‘So, what happened to your hand,’ ” Miller recalled. “And I was like, ‘I broke it. I punched a door.’ And he was like, ‘That’s pretty f—ing sweet.’ And then we chopped it up for a little bit.

At around 57:00 minutes mark, Mac Miller Reveals meeting Slim Shady backstage at a show in Japan where the Detroit Rapper makes fun of his broken arm. “So, I got to meet Eminem,” says Mac. “He makes fun of me for my hand, which made me comfortable. That was the most starstruck I’d ever been, for sure. I’ve met a lot of people and been cool, hanging out, but Em walked out and I was just like, ’Holy sh-t. That’s Eminem.’

Arthur Pitt, the former Vice President of Rostrum Records, and Miller were also in the area as he and the Shady crew were prepping for the annual Summersonic Festival in 2012. “[We] trekked near a mile to the stands, and I encountered this jovial kid enjoying [the f**k out the moment taking place,” Morales remembered on his Instagram page. “We trooped backstage and bucket-list sh*t ensued for Mac. His dopeness was still a work in progress, so no one had any idea of how truly talented he was, but he carried himself beyond his years and was an open book soaking in the entire moment beyond the normal meet and greet.”

“Paul was scared that if I went back to the blonde, I might relapse, get on some bullsh-t,” Em rapped on the track. “Perhaps I’ll/ launch some cracker taunts/ at Action Bronson/ Macklemore/ Mac Miller and Asher Roth/ And have some back-and-forths.”

Giggs Morales, Atlantic Records’ Vice President of A&R, who served as Shady Records’ Senior Director of A&R through trying periods like the release and distribution of Get Rich Or Die Trying. He states unequivocally that Eminem “respected [Mac] heavily.” “We trooped backstage and bucket-list shit ensued for Mac.
