Lupe Fiasco weighs in on Drake vs Kendrick Lamar.
Lupe Fiasco also comments on the ongoing Drake vs Kendrick Lamar feud, and he claimed that the Toronto native is a better rapper than K. Dot. In a conversation with Aye Verb on X Spaces, Fiasco says that he liked Drake’s new diss track “Push Ups“, while he hasn’t heart Kendrick’s verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That.”
When he was asked to pick a better rapper between the two, he choose Drake. He was then asked if he thinks Drake is a better rapper “by a long shot,” to which he said: “Not really. Drake got bars – so I would give it to Drake.”
“I think Kendrick’s a better technically skilled performer but I don’t think he’s a better rapper,” he added. He then also said that he doesn’t think Kendrick Lamar is a dangerous lyricist.
“I think he’s [Kendrick] a great performer,” he continued. “I think he’s a great rapper. I think he makes great albums. I think he’s a great conceptualist. I think he’s a great mind. I think what he does for the culture is amazing. I love him to death. I do not think that he’s this amazing lyricist, though.”
“And if I had to put a top 100 list together… the first 60 slots would be ni–as that ain’t in the mainstream that ni–as don’t even know. It ain’t finna be ni–as with record deals. It’s gonna be all these battle rap ni–as. When it comes to lyrics.”
