Lupe Fiasco sets his priority straight for this stage of his career.
When it comes to lyrics, Lupe Fiasco is one of the top rappers in the game, and that is all he cares about. The rapper reacted to a post on Twitter that said: If we’re talking right now — Lupe is the best lyricist spitting in the game today.
Fiasco retweeted the post and stated that lyrics are all he cares about, as well as his time at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and The Society Of Spoken Art, which is an educational group whose goal is to introduce Rappers to the fields of Linguistics & Semiotics in an environment of their peers.
“As a rapper in this stage of my life all I really care about is lyrics, SOSA & MIT,” he wrote. “I don’t care about sales, lists, radio stations, podcasts, playlists, beats, choruses, hooks, features, videos, contracts, advances, awards, views, follower counts, battles or interviews. Joy.”
