Ludacris reveals the artist he wants to collaborate with, names Eminem.
Following his appearance in a Verzuz Instagram Live duel versus Nelly on Saturday – which was marred by technical difficulties on Nelly’s part – Ludacris took to Twitter to respond to fan questions. Ludacris did a Q&A session on his Twitter where he answered through videos to some of the fan’s questions. A fan asked, “Who would you like to collaborate with that you have not already worked with (dead or alive)?” Ludacris answered the question and revealed that Eminem is on his list.
“Who would I like to collaborate with, dead or alive? That’s a lot,” says Ludacris. “Obviously, I collaborated with Notorious B.I.G. but it was a posthumous album so I wasn’t actually able to collaborate with him while he was alive. 2Pac I would love to collaborate with. But if we are saying alive, I haven’t done a track with Eminem yet and that’s on my list. The world needs a Ludacris and Eminem record for sure.”
“One of my favorite verses from Eminem is on the song ‘‘Till I Collapse’ featuring Nate Dogg,” Luda said. “I just feel like he spazzed the hell out of this record.”
He continued, “He says a lot of different things on that verse that are just all over the place. The ending line is basically like it doesn’t matter how many records you sell, if you don’t have respect in this game, it means absolutely nothing.”
“I mean, everything about that verse is incredible to me,” he continued. “From a critic’s standpoint, from someone who wants to sing a long’s standpoint, the cadences, the rhythm, the flow, everything. One of the best verses ever.”
It would be a wonderful pairing for anyone who grew up listening to music during the 2000s when the duo dominated the charts with classics like Ludacris’ “Get Back” and “Stand Up” and Eminem’s “Without Me,” “Stan,” and “Cleanin’ Out My Closet.”
This isn’t the first time Ludacris has expressed his admiration for Eminem. In a video for GQ in 2017, he dissected Em’s verse on “Till I Collapse,” describing it as one of his favorite rap verses.
Ludacris was most recently seen on the Usher and Lil Jon-assisted tune “S*xBeat,” which was initially heard during Jon’s Verzuz duel with T-Pain.
