Lloyd Banks visits Jalen & Jacoby podcast.
Following the release of his latest album “The Course Of The Inevitable 2”, Lloyd Banks made a visit to Jalen & Jacoby podcast for a new interview. Among other things in the conversation, the rapper was asked about his top 5 hip-hop artists on the basis of punchlines in the history of rap.
The former G-Unit members listed his top five, which also included him. “I would say Big L,” he said. “Then, Lord Finesse. I would say, Jadakiss. I would say, Fabolous. And I would have to take the last spot.”

Lloyd Banks is not new to paying homage to his contemporaries and predecessors. During one recent Billboard conversation, he credited Snoop Dogg, Nas, Biggie, Slick Rick, and Rakim as influencing him.
“It means a lot to me when I’m ranking other artists,” he said. “Mind you, Snoop Dogg, Nas and Biggie [Smalls], those are the artists who had the biggest influence on me. Biggie is my favorite artist of all time. His flows were like breaking the rules. Just the way he lined his shit up to me was crazy — and the storytelling aspects too. Nas, it was technique for me. He had no empty spots. I learned a lot from that first project.
“Snoop was someone I related to because he was skinny, calm, cool, laid back — and that was me. In my mind, coming into the game, he let me know it was cool to be cool. That’s just who I am. You taking a kid from the neighborhood and you putting them into these positions when I’m not naturally vocal like that.”
Lloyd Banks’ new album is a follow-up to his last year’s effort, with 14 new tracks. The guest appearances came from Benny The Butcher, Conway The Machine, Dave East, Jadakiss, Tony Yayo and more.
